This technique class will introduce students to the two different types of fully beaded braids. Students will learn how to use a marudai to make 2-drop kongoh gumi (round braid), the braid that beads are dropped into the braid as the tama are moved and continuous beaded braids, where braids are made using long continuous strands of beads that are braided in the same manner as fiber braids. Students will be required to do pre-class prep of loading beads onto cords to be braided in class.Kit: $25.00, includes Seed beads, SLon, split rings
Equipment provided by student: Marudai, 8 weighted tama, counterweight of 40%, 16 plastic bobbins, scissors, bead mat.
Note: Students who do not have marudai equipment may reserve equipment from instructor.
