The mission of the American Kumihimo Society (AKS) is to deepen the appreciation of the art of braiding while providing educational resources, support, and connections for the braiding community worldwide.

Instructor Class Proposal Application -- Deadline January 31, 2026

Please fill out all information on the application form below and include pictures of the class project. When you click on submit will automatically be sent to the Gathering Committee.
You must submit a separate proposal for each class.
Instructors will be notified regarding acceptance no later than March 1, 2026
If you are chosen to teach, we ask you to write a short piece related to Kumihimo or other braiding for the next issue of Gathering Threads.
