SATIN CORD/RAT TAIL – Thick nylon or rayon threads are woven together to create this colorful, smooth cord.   Satin cord has a shimmery silk-like finish. Available in a variety of sizes and colors.  Cord ends can be heat sealed with cord zappers making it easy to finish braiding projects. The glossy shine of this cording is great for handmade artisan glass and ceramic pendants making it a popular choice by many braiders.

Original satin cord made in the United States was rayon wrapped around a cotton core and has a smoother texture than Nylon Satin. Although this type of satin cord is no longer manufactured, old stock can still be found.
