Hey Picasso! Leno Braid

– with Bob Galivan

The Leno Braid is an adaptation from the gauze weave, where a structure is worked with open cells. This structure is a kumihimo braid that uses leno techniques to create the open structure. In this braid, you’ll use a flexible fiber along with some lovely aged picasso beads to create a lively, fun cuff-type bracelet. In the weeks before the class, students will have the opportunity to work with the instructor online to select colorways and a pattern for the class. Students will learn the Leno braid variation of the traditional Kumihimo Anda-gumi braid, to create an open structured cuff, and how to incorporate beads into the design.
