Instructor Application for AKS eCourse

Thank you for your interest in teaching an online eCourse or eStudy Group for The American Kumihimo Society (AKS). After completing this application the AKS Education Committee will review your proposal and determine when and if it will fit into the AKS education calendar. Applications will be reviewed and instructors will be contacted within 30 days.

A short, one to two paragraph biography outlining your background, such as: education, training, braiding and/or teaching experience.

Please list at least two references:

Proposed Course Information

A paragraph or two describing your eCourse. Provide details of the techniques that will be taught including braid structures and type of equipment that will be used (disk, marudai, takadai, etc.)
How much time do you expect a student will need to complete each lesson? Or, the total amount of time it will take an average student to learn the techniques you are introducing and to complete projects or samples you are teaching in your eCourse?
Define the level of student expertise required to take this class. (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced). Please be precise: for instance, if you are proposing an eCourse for intermediate students, explain exactly what intermediate means to you. Do students need to know specific braid structures, do they need to know how to use specific equipment, etc.?
If students are expected to purchase special items for this eCourse please provide a list of items needed to successfully complete this course (exclude items such as kumihimo disks, marudai or takadai). If you are using a companion book please include this in your list.
