We will review braids 1 & 2 (pages 23 & 24) and move onto braids 3 & 4 (pages 25 & 26) from Makiko Tada’s, Comprehensive Treatise of Braids I: Maru-dai braids. Bring a bag lunch and anything you’re working on or have questions about. Looking forward to seeing you there
Bring any kumihimo project you wish to work on — marudai or disc. We can also help with the current (and past) braids from the Northern California Kumihimo Study Group.
Also bring a small dish to share and post what it will be so we don’t wind up with too many duplicates.
Can’t wait to see you and your braids!
|The next project from the Beth Kemp book that we will be making is the Pansy Eyes Necklace, page 38. I have the cord that is referenced in the book, available at 3 yards for $1.00. If you wish to use a different cord, you are of course free to bring that along.
We will use How to make 50 Fabulous Kumhimo Braids by Beth Kemp as a guide to studying Kumihimo on the square disk. ( ISBN:978-0-7641-6799-7) This book is available through Amazon for $14.95 using Prime. It is also available through several used book sellers through Amazon, usually in the $10-12 range including shipping. Since we will be using this book for probably the remainder of the year, or possibly longer, I would encourage each of you to get your own copy. I will NOT be printing out copies of the instructions, as I feel that the author has a right to be paid for her work.
If you don’t have Prime and would like me to order you a copy of the book, either new or used, please let me know. As usual, I will have cord and other materials available for purchase, but I suspect that there will come a time when you will want to secure your own materials. I will always have disks and bobbins for sale as well.
