In this class students will learn how to embellish an oimatsu braid using four additional warps with pearls. Once students learn this technique they will be able to explore limitless possibilities using all sorts of beads to create their own unique designs.

Kit: $62 includes shipping, USA only.
Kit contents: Japanese metallic fibers, leather, glass pearls, big eye needle, acrylic clasp, cords for the pearls, instructions. Students will have a choice of kits in several color choices, photos will be available prior to registration opening.

A Supply List will be available for students outside of the United States or anyone wishing to work with their own supplies.

Instructor: Adrienne Gaskell

Student Equipment: Marudai, 16 tama with leaders, 45% counterweight, chopstick.

Student Supplies: Scissors, measuring tape, chopstick or double pointed knitting needle, 4 weighted plastic bobbins.

Skill Level: Advanced with marudai experience.

Pre-requisites: Students should be proficient braiding a 16-tama oimatsu braid on the marudai and working with Japanese pre-cut fibers.

Welcome to www.amksoc.org. The www.amksoc.org website (the “Site”) is comprised of various web pages operated by The American Kumihimo Society (“AKS”). The website, www.amksoc.org is offered to you conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein (the “Terms”). www.amksoc.org is a Non-profit Site. The American Kumihimo Society (AKS) was formed in January of 2016 as a resource for the braiding community in the Americas, whose mission is to provide support and education resources to promote and nurture the public understanding of braiding from many cultures.

Privacy
Your use of www.amksoc.org is subject to AKS’s Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy which also governs the Site and informs users of our data collection practices.

Electronic Communications
Visiting www.amksoc.org or sending emails to AKS constitutes electronic communications. Cancellation/Refund Policy
You may cancel your membership in AKS at any time. Cancellations within 30 days of joining will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee. After 30 days, cancellations will not qualify for a refund.

Use of member directory/information
This site will provide a member directory containing information relating to AKS members. The member directory will be located in a password-protected portion of the site, accessible only by AKS members. Only information explicitly provided by a member for inclusion in the directory will be contained in the directory. Members may edit or remove their information at any time. The information contained in the AKS Member Directory is the exclusive property of AKS. This database is an asset and its contents are confidential. Disclosure, transfer, duplication, reproduction, or retention of all or any portion of the information — in any form or manner whatsoever — is not permitted by any company or third party, agent, employee, member, or contractor thereof.

Use of this list for solicitation, commercial activities, fax or e-mail broadcasts, telemarketing, surveys, or direct mail purposes is strictly prohibited. AKS does not rent, sell, or otherwise provide the content of the member directory to any third-party entity.
