Welcome to the Conference Programme

The conference will run from Sunday afternoon, June 15 2025 until the following Saturday morning, June 21, 2025. Registration and the welcome meeting will take place on Sunday afternoon and we will depart on Saturday morning after the conference banquet, unless you have booked extra days to explore Cleveland.

The range of workshops cover many different techniques for braiding and narrow bands. A full programme of workshops can be downloaded by day and also by technique. You can also download a list of the workshops by number (useful when registering). Information about all the tutors is provided and shown in alphabetic order of their last name.

The workshops have been split into a number of techniques which are shown on different pages. Within the techniques pages, the classes are shown in alphabetic order by the tutor’s last name. The details are provided on the pages that can be accessed via the Braids 2025 menu.

Registration will take place later in the year, so please check back on the website for the latest news.

The format of the conference will be to have a keynote speaker in the morning at 8.30 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday followed by workshops in Tinkham Vale and Thwing. Snacks and lunch will be served in Tinkham Vale.

Following the workshops there will be an evening activity. This will be different each evening and the activities will be announced in the next few months.

On Wednesday, we will have an exploration day with the possibility of visiting ‘Behind the Scenes’ at the Cleveland Museum of Art or a visit to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. You can choose to use this day to visit any of the wonderful nearby museums in the University Circle as well as the Braids 2025 exhibition in the Botanical Garden.

On Friday evening we will have the conference banquet in Tinkham Vale and will have an exhibition of our participants’ exhibits.

The conference fee (which is separate from the housing fee) covers all workshops, lectures, farewell dinner, conference/goodie bag and the printed Proceedings (this is a book containing articles from all the tutors and speakers). Accompanying persons will pay a reduced conference fee.

The conference fee and the housing fee will be announced later in the year, well before registration. It will be possible to stay in the housing for a few days before and after the conference.
