AKS is very honored that Makiko Tada has offered to teach one of her newest braids for the Virtual Gathering. Students will learn several versions of the twisted braid as well as how to make beautiful covered sections between the different braid samples.

Kit: No kit, see student supply list.
Student Supplies: Japanese pre-cut silk or fiber of choice, 2 colors, 8 tama each for a total of 16 tama. If students want to make a long braid, as shown in photo, they will need 4 ropes of 16 tama silk in total. Students may choose to make a shorter, sample braid and use the silk folded in half for half the required threads.
Skill Level: Intermediate marudai braider.
Prerequisite: Students should be experienced making 16 tama fiber braids on the marudai. If students are proficient making Edo-Yatsu and Yatsu-Se easily they will be able to follow Makiko and start braiding immediately.
