The AKS annual publication, Gathering Threads, contains articles of interest for braiders of all disciplines and levels of experience.
Starting with the 2019 edition, Gathering Threads will be free to all AKS paid members.
The issue is packed full of articles including:
- A recap of Braids 2019 in Iga by Rosalie Neilson
- An overview of Claudia Wollny’s new book
- A description of the new Octo Plate complete with Makiko Tada’s pattern for how to make a braided flower
- Plus, lots of other tips and information like how to make a do-it-yourself core stand that is inexpensive and extremely lightweight and portable; and an updated list of supplies and notions to carry in your Kumi Travel Kit.

All AKS members with a current paid membership are eligible to receive a copy! But will you get it? Do we have the correct address for you? Please login and check.
How to check and update your address
- Login to the AKS website as a member (username and password needed)
- From the top menu bar select Member, then Members Only, then Member Profile
- On the Member Profile screen, select Addresses
- Your current Billing Address will display. If it is correct, go ahead and log out. If it needs to be updated, click on EDIT and update it. Don’t forget to SAVE at the bottom of the page.
