MATERIALS – Rust color yarn & Variegated rayon loop yarn from Blue Heron

COMMENTS – Edo Yatsu braid made with 1/2 each of the above yarns. The combination of these yards resulted in an usual braid – 14 ft long. Thirteen feet of the braid was then used to create a Thump Pad and then shaped into a bowl. (The thump pad is also known as a Carrick mat. Being a classic Turk’s head weave, it is related to the Turk’s head knot.) I loved the idea of combining braiding and knotting skills.
