The American Kumihimo Society is proud to name Makiko Tada the 2020 recipient of the AKS Lifetime Achievement Award. This is in recognition of her research, expertise, and generosity in sharing her knowledge of braids from all cultures, and especially Japanese Kumihimo. Her numerous books on braiding have educated and inspired countless numbers of braiders throughout the world.
